60 minute Modo class tonight with live music from a local musician. There was very little instruction, which allowed the music to help shape the experience. Nice way to end the day 🎶✨

Spent five hours walking around outdoors on this beautiful day and my body needed a break tonight, so I listened to a guided meditation on gratitude. In honour of Thanksgiving, here are just a few of the many things I am grateful for today: ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
1. My amazing family
2. My supportive friends
3. My good health
4. My senses
5. The sun
6. The cool autumn breeze
7. A hot shower
8. Delicious food
9. Warm cups of tea
10. A comfortable bed

I was supposed to teach another community class, but there was a schedule mix up so I used the time and private studio for my own practice this morning ✨

‘it is hard to see your progress when you are deeply immersed in the process. before you let doubt take control, examine how much you have grown/accomplished by mentally taking a big step back so you can look at the whole picture’ - yung pueblo

Outside of briefly practicing headstands in YTT, with the support of a wall, I haven’t tried it since because it seemed too scary and difficult. I didn’t believe I could do it, so I didn’t try. Today I decided to take a break from practicing my community class sequence and try something new - I followed a YouTube class tailored to prepare the body for headstand. I wasn’t sure I would manage to balance, but I visualized myself in the pose, let go of my attachment to achievement and just had fun with it.

It’s still very much a work in progress (I need to work on using only my core strength and not momentum to get myself up), but I am excited about the possibility of incorporating more inversions into my regular practice.

This morning I taught my first public yoga class and I had 8 yogis show up to practice together with me. Seeing everyone deep in pranayama & savasana at the end of class looking so peaceful and serene was a powerful and beautiful experience 🕉

I felt pretty nervous and had butterflies even though I’ve been practicing for this moment. There are things that could have been better, but I’m feeling proud and excited to keep putting myself out there to continue to learn and grow 🌱

Today was day 1 of 4 of my 30hr Restorative Yoga Teacher Training.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
‘In our modern world, we are encouraged to do more, have more and achieve more, while our innate skill for inner awareness and letting go, too often, falls by the wayside. Restorative yoga aims to transport the practitioner into a state of deep rest and inner quiet where the body and the mind can release accumulated tension. It’s practice restores wellness, balance, ease and harmony in a system that has become overloaded and hyper stimulated.’
