working on a new illustration of Gia
working on a new illustration of Gia
finished this a couple days ago but this is my new design for the postcards that will be sold to raise money for the Hamilton Centre for Civic Inclusion
practicing some really rough character designs
Haven’t been posting on here as much as I would like. The past few days I’ve been trying to be outside more but I’ve also been doing some client work here and there. Today I spent the day doing this on Adobe Fresco instead of Procreate. It was a bit of a learning curve trying to figure out the interface (it’s actually quite similar to illustrator and photoshop) but I do like it more than Procreate right now as you can use vector brushes and it also has some really cool pixel brushes for texture! Looking forward to experimenting with it more.
finished up my postcard today. check out @redefine20 on IG to purchase in the near future. all funds will be going to the minnesota freedom fund!
edit: after doing more research it came to my attention that the Black power fist was a sign used for slaves to communicate with each other when they could not speak. i decided against selling this postcard and have decided to create a new one without appropriation.
Creating Black Lives Matter postcard designs for an organization called Redefine Twenty who will be selling these to the public. All proceeds will be given to Minnesota Freedom Fund, Criminal Bail Fund, and Immigration Bond Fund. The past few days have been really heavy and difficult and my heart is with my black brothers and sisters.
today i finished some client work and did some house building in sims. soooooooooo fun
today is day 1 of production! we were relying on natural lighting but it decided to be gloomy after we had already done makeup and setup lol. thank goodness for reflectors 😰
some more cooking today :). totally messed up the recipe and had to improvise to make it work… turned out pretty good :)
Worked a bit more on this client piece today. Not sure how I feel about this colour pallet and if I’m going to move forward with it.
today my creativity went beyond a screen and resulted in me making this pasta salad contraption 😰
working on some client work today
been working on these all day, think i’m just about finished! (might add some detail on the back pocket tomorrow or something). gonna use these in a bigger project i’m looking to start production on very soon.
Took a break from painting and worked on this today! She’s not done, as I still need to add in details and fix some things.
new project :)
working on some more client work!
spent the day storyboarding and planning an experimental film i been wanting to make for a while. got to collaborate with my sister on this, as she is more passionate about film making, and i’m more passionate about creative direction. was really cool to collab with her and i’m excited to work on this project together.
some client work i did today. definitely not the style of illustrations i prefer to do as this is much more simplistic. it’s meant to be an icon for the client to use for emails and on slack.
if sailor moon was a desi princess
still want to add some more detail to this but i won’t be doing that tonight
Gonna make a series from my last drawing
i was gonna finish this in the morning but i couldn’t sleep till it was done.
Not done yet but something I worked on today. My goal with this is to try a new style of illustration when it comes down to colour and shading!
for the past few weeks i've been learning 3d modelling on and off. today i finally sat back down and tried again. this is my progress this far and still have a long way to go from what the final product is supposed to look like (im following a youtube tutorial). I also need to figure out why my rendered image is extremely grainy in the middle /:.
During this quarantine I've discovered something really important about myself. I've realized that in order to function productively and feel 'normal' I need to create. This journal is to challenge myself to create something every single day, big or small. I spent a good part of today sketching. The above picture is some sample sketches of a larger clothing customization I will soon be working on (waiting on new paints to come in lolll). Here's to hoping I can find my inspiration again.
