Re: Webs UI view. @internetvin you mentioned a spatial graph-like canvas. It reminds me of the Roam Graph. I don't really use the Roam Graph. What 2 things should I get out of the Roam Graph?
- Information about each node (each node is a page so I should see the title, what's in it, imgs/vids, etc).
- Information about the connection for each node (what other pages is this 1 page connnected to?)
Roam fails on both fronts. Check out the image.
Re: 1, they only give me the page title. The titles could be more useful if I was better at titling them but they don't give me a lot of info about what else is inside the page. I'm a little lost as to what I'm looking at.
Re: 2, the connections are not locally-clustered. Notice those blue lines? That's what happens when you click on a node to "illuminate" its connections. Its connections are all across the graph. I can't, in an instant, see what connections that node has. The connections provide context; what is this page linked to? Where has it been used? What are its siblings? etc etc.

The reason I bring this up is you mentioned something very similar to the Webs view. I really want to see FL actually make a "graph view" that makes sense and works. Because as awesome as Webs is, half of the value proposition is in that view (imo). The other half is in the freedom it affords you when organizing journals and entries. So the view is pretty important and I thought I'd share my (half-baked) thoughts on why the Roam Graph doesn't work for me. * It may work for other folks so obligatory caveat: experiences are my own.
